Thailand's capital, Bangkok, is a popular tourist destination worldwide.
Bangkok receives about 22.7 million foreign visitors annually[1]. According to MasterCard's Global Destination Cities Index, which looked at visitor arrivals from other countries, 15.98 million people are expected to visit Bangkok in 2013.
It topped the MasterCard Global Destinations Cities Index as the most visited city in the world in 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017 and 2018[2][3] The city is placed fourth in cross-border spending, with 14.3 billion dollars expected for 2013, after New York, London, and Paris.
Bangkok has also been awarded "World's Best City" by Travel + Leisure magazine's reader survey for four years running since 2010.
